Some notable career accomplishments:
— Recently spearheaded a record-setting fundraising campaign for Decaturish.com, bringing in more than $60,000
— Grew Decaturish to include a team of three full-time employees and a crew of dedicated freelance journalists
— Transformed Decaturish from a local community news website into a thriving business with more than 300,000 page views and 100,000 unique views monthly
— Built an audience that includes 29,000 followers on a Meta platforms, a 13,000-member email list and nearly 3,000 paying monthly supporters
— Launched a successful bi-monthly print publication, Decaturish INK, in 2025.
— Launched two podcasts, including the Decatur Dish in partnership with Atlanta News First and the Decaturish Download.
— Winner of several awards, including:
Alabama Press Association 2010 Better Newspaper contest - 1st Place Best In-Depth news coverage
Winner of seven Creative Loafing "Best of” awards: Best Local Blog (Decaturish): 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and Best Local Journalist: 2015, 2016, 2017
